Morning Newspaper
As usual, every Sunday morning we are expecting a dear guest: morning paper. No morning paper, no breakfast. Saturdays and Sundays morning are the only lavish times for me and my husband to read morning newspaper, whereas in the rest of the week we are always rushing out for office without a break. Do not tell me to read morning paper, even breakfast we have to eat en route to workplace. But this time, the paper has not come up yet and it is already leaning to 9 o’clock. Usually, approaching to 6 the paper is already thrown, rather than flying, in over the fences and lands beautifully on our carport.
Tracking down the curiosity, we have found that the paperboy was not working that day and the distributor asked for apology and promised to send the late morning paper right away by another boy. But no, my husband could not hold himself up and he rushed out for morning paper in person. He did not want to let himself lag behind last night’s Euro Cup news. He even left fried rice I made for him untouched yet. Five minutes later, he came back with victorious grin on his face rising his right hand up in the air to me with a bundle of morning papers in the clutch. He started sorting out the pages and handed out the rest to me. We have made a consensus that pages of lifestyle and infotainment would go to me, while he would get politics and sports.
The above brief story made me recall the data by Polling Center, a well-known research institution, how 71.43% men are more enthusiastic to politics and sports news, while 78.43% women prefer infotainment and lifestyle. Hey, hey, hey, ….. is there any association with the philosophy of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus? (eky)
